Alcohol drinking guidelines
There is no completely safe level of drinking. Even low levels of alcohol increase the risk of health problems, including cancer.
Spreading drinking over several days and having drink-free days each week can help reduce harm.
Why alcohol is a concern in Wales
Alcohol contributes to around 1,500 deaths each year in Wales and causes more than £1 billion of harm to society.
Alcohol-related harm is higher in more deprived communities, and exposure during childhood can have long-lasting effects.
